Rocky Mountain Venom Announces First Four Members of 2026-27 Coaching Staff

June 11, 2027

The Rocky Mountain Venom Hockey Academy is proud to officially announce the first four members of our 2026-27 coaching staff as we continue building a development-focused environment for athletes and families throughout Alberta. The strength of any hockey program begins with its leadership, and we are excited to welcome a coaching group that brings a combination of experience, passion, accountability, and a genuine commitment to player development.

Leading our U13 Major Yellow team will be RMV academy founder and president, Sharina Filion as Head Coach, supported by Assistant Coach Jeremy Luterbach. Together, they will guide a group that will compete in the Premier Hockey League while continuing to focus on skill development, confidence building, and creating a positive team culture.

On the freshman U11 Major side, Jaydin Payne has been named Head Coach and will be joined by Assistant Coach Jeremy Maher. Both coaches bring a player-first approach and a commitment to helping young athletes develop both on and off the ice.

At Rocky Mountain Venom, the belief is that strong coaching extends beyond systems and game strategy. Our coaches are mentors, leaders, and role models who help athletes build confidence, character, resilience, and a lifelong love for the game. What makes Venom different is our commitment to building genuine relationships with our athletes and families. We believe development happens best when players are supported, challenged, and surrounded by coaches who are invested in their success. Our focus remains on creating an environment where every athlete has the opportunity to grow, improve, and develop confidence both on and off the ice.

As our program continues to grow, we remain committed to providing families with a positive hockey experience built around development, opportunity, and community. We are excited about the future and confident that this coaching group will play an important role in helping our athletes reach their full potential.

Additional coaching announcements for the 2026-27 season, including the much anticipated U13 Major Black team coaching reveal, will be made in the coming weeks as roster construction and program planning continue.

“Our goal is simple: create an environment where athletes can develop, compete, and build confidence while being surrounded by coaches who genuinely care about their success both on and off the ice. We are committed to developing great hockey players, but more importantly, great people.”

— Sharina Filion, Founder & President, Rocky Mountain Venom Hockey Academy
